Ok, I've set up an initial wiki page to address all our wishes and
expectations or known problems. See

Please note, that's only a draft and we may can't solve all named
problems. In my eyes GeoIP and extended mirrors are the most important
problems to solve asap.

already excellent knowledge of PHP - volunteer to do this? I also think
