OpenOffice.org extension "Default Settings For Japanese" is released.

This is an OpenOffice.org extension that tweaks the default settings of
text formatting and adds several Clip Art images and ready-to-use
templates. This kind of extension has been demanded among Japanese users
for years since OpenOffice.org is well made, but its default settings
are generally tuned for Western culture, not for Asian one.

OpenOffice.org Users Group Japan (OOoUG.jp) released the Default
Settings For Japanese Version 1.0 on June 29, 2009. This extension will
provide both casual and professional Japanese speaking users with better
office suite environment by appropriately changing the default settings
of about 30 entries including alignment justification and the default
font names.

Information-technology Promoting Agency, Japan (IPA) has been releasing
a set of Japanese fonts -- highly compatible to the fonts embedded in
Windows Japanese -- for free-of-charge with not-so-restricted license.
Many Linux Japanese users install the IPA fonts in their PCs and servers.
This extension will automatically set the IPA fonts as the default ones.
