Hi, As per the recent discussion thread [1] I'd like us to move to using the git hash as the build and default implementation version, probably in the next 11.2 beta. Unless someone has a very, very good reason not to?!
My initial suggestion in that thread was to just write in the spec version, which could be unique per release, but not commit. There seemed to be mostly consensus around using git hash though. The most important thing for me is that I really don't want to do another release where this isn't consistent from one build of the source to another.
