I doubt it. The DTD does not require the message_digest as required element. Also the catalog.xml checks and validates against the DTD successfully.I am afraid that someone will have to debug the org.netbeans.modules.autoupdate.updateprovider.AutoupdateCatalogParser.getUpdateItems() method when loading the XML.
