This sounds right - the number in the filename is the version of the library. The 8.2 is derived from the original source of the binaries. When a rebuild happens the license also should be updated. We are currently using the CDDL licensed binaries from 8.2, but the new binaries would be covered by the ALv2. > My specific problems were: > * can't build for every platform, especially old ones (HP-UX, for > example) - we might need to take a decision to drop some platforms. Sounds good - if we get at least the main platforms covered we should be good to go. Mac, Windows, Linux should be easy, I think I could help on solaris. I would also consider dropping support for platforms pre 1.6. > * I don't know who to ask about uploading to osuosl. The PMC has access to the server, so ask on the dev mailing list and you should get help. If noone reacts, please ask again, sometimes it needs more intensive prodding. > Currently I've rebuilt for Win, Mac and Linux, and superficially > tested them, enough for a more thorough testing as part of NetCAT. > I just need to tidy up my branch and will put in a PR fairly soon. Thank you! This sounds great.
