it looks like most people prefer getting rid of old PP2 update
centers so if you could redirect
https://plugins.netbeans.apache.org/pluginportal to
https://netbeans-vm.apache.org/pluginportal/ so that NetBeans Plugin
Portal then points to [5] it would be great.
[5] http://netbeans-vm.apache.org/pluginportal/data/12.0/catalog.xml.gz
BTW, I have addressed Matthias' concern raised in NETBEANSINFRA-185 [3]
and created this Wiki page:

If nobody objects, I will prepare a new pull request to remove NetBeans
