The proposed/approved fix

   https://github.com/apache/netbeans/pull/2053

adds some additional validations to the dialog; it doesn't change any actual project creation code.

My understanding is that making this a milestones sets it up so that it's easily vetoable.

The reason for this fix is that while creating a maven project, there are a couple typos you can make in the maven project creation dialog (any maven project AFAICT), see, https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-4083. One causes the creation to abort with an exception; the other creates a project with a syntax error.
