I both agree, and (at least partly) take the blame on that one! :-) That was a little trying to retrospectively add in an idea on top of an existing version number .. Still, my way of justifying it would be to look at how it's described at https://netbeans.apache.org/download/archive/index.html - ie. Apache NetBeans 11 feature update 3 (NB 11.3) - early access to new features, possibly less well tested?
