Thanks, that helped shift my perspective. My old-school/lone-developer
is showing; I didn't even think of different branch. Mercurial leaves
you at "tip" (mercurial maps git branches to bookmarks) which in this
case, with all those frequent automatic checkins, was not master. Sorry
for the noise.
You're welcome to say "use git", but I won't find that particularly
useful ;-)
If you decide not to use the tools "all others" use, it is always good
to check if maybe your tools fail or have surprising behaviour.
I use mercurial with the main NetBeans repo. And there have been some
surprises.
