I was noticing recently on the slack channel a comment about the JavaHelp functionality
As I understand things, due to GPL related licensing the JavaHelp functionality basically is no longer available (i.e. jhall and jsearch are part of JavaHelp no longer part of NetBeans."). I found a few related tickets (see below)...assume this may basically be part of either NETBEANS-3 javahelp or NETBEANS-656 Help is Broken (Offline and On-line) to address but figured I would raise the quest Any plans for a replacement for this> Eric Bresie [email protected] Reference: 1. (Open) NETBEANS-3 javahelp - Believe this may be the longer term overarching ticket for javahelp 2. (Open) NETBEANS-656 Help is Broken (Offline and On-line) - This seems to be one that may be worth working some of this against - There was an update as part of this to correct URL to online version but more work for Offline suspect is needed 3. (Closed) NETBEANS-285 java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: javax.help.search.SearchEngine - Believe this was an issue when trying Ctrl+I trigger an issue 4. (Closed) NETBEANS-462Java Help class cannot be found - Believe this was closed as not valid - It did include some additional build dependency updates in the comments though 5. (Closed) NETBEANS-492 Quick Search for help throws java.lang.ClassNotFoundException - Believe this was an issue with help searching which may have basically been disabled 6. (Closed) NETBEANS-1818 Cleanup license files - This seemed to be some licensing cleanup which has reference to JavaHelp items
