Hi all,

Since we're in the process of wrapping up 12.3, i.e., just voting now and
things seem to be going well, let's look at the release schedule:

https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/NETBEANS/Release+Schedule

Some comments:

1. In other threads, we've discussed the point that we don't really know
what we mean by an LTS release and we should consider not doing them
anymore, until we do know what we mean by that term. In that light, I
propose our next release is 12.4 along the schedule above.

2. In the schedule above, we should change the 13 and 13 columns to be
"release 12" too, and continue incrementing the minor number until we know
when/if we want to do the next LTS.

3. The next release, if it is 12.4, will not have a NetCAT process, i.e.,
we'll continue doing NetCAT but only if/when we do the next LTS release.

4. That means we'll need to update the schedule above for 12.4, if we do
12.4, since there won't be NetCAT, and we will still target May 15 to 31 as
our release date for the next release.

Thoughts?

Note: Before responding in this thread, please consider whether you're
going to be adding noise or insight here -- i.e., if you have something
meaningful to add, that would be valuable and please go ahead. If, when
you think about it, you're not going to be helping to move this discussion
forward, and you're going to go off on a tangent instead, can you pause and
reconsider responding to this discussion, i.e., if you're going to answer
these questions by providing yet more questions, and you don't actually
have answers to the questions above, maybe skip this particular thread,
please. :-)

Thanks,

Gj
