can't lookup current project

Hi All

   These give me null:

Lookup lookup = Utilities.actionsGlobalContext();
Project project = lookup.lookup(Project.class);

This also null:

OpenProjects.getDefault().getMainProject()

How can I find the current selected project? thanks
