+1 I do also support the effort to remove Netbinox and switch to a maintained 
implementation (e.g the already existing felix impl)



However: I remember quickly testing Felix after Laszlo removed the equinox tree:

Ergonomics didn't work and startup was slower, however as you can see it was 
just a hack and it might therefore not indicate much.

There is also some hope that the startup performance regression would be only 
visible on very first launch, since cached launches avoid many code paths.

(we are currently at about 2.5s "on my system" #9308)


but its still a +1 since long term maintainability > startup time
