The one difference I remember from that nb-javac conversation was that the JRE / JDK itself can be considered as "platform dependencies". Am I right to assume that still rules out the IDE binaries shipping with the JDK, from an Apache perspective at least? If so, that might render this thread moot - an installer that can download and install the JDK would probably be more user friendly then?
