Hello Netbeans Community,

I hit send by accident, before I was going to change the subject line to
something like "How to Onboard as a NetBeans Contributor."

I'd like to become an active contributor on the NetBeans project, but I am
not sure how to proceed.

*I generally like to understand architectures and big pictures before I
dive into something (I enjoy reading Java specs). *

I have seen Geertjan mention this book:

https://leanpub.com/nbp4beginners

I would be fine with reading that book as a prerequisite to contributing.
Does that make sense? Here is some information about me:

   - Three-time Swing Developer (2-3 years total dev time)
      - I actually have the somewhat rare SCJD
      - Was a big fan and implementor of some of the Filthy Rich Clients
      stuff
   - 10+ years using NetBeans (Also have used Eclipse & IntelliJ)
   - I have the even-rarer SCSNB
   - Java + JavaEE Experience
   - JS experience
   - Architecture/Management experience

Thanks for any guidance. I am thankful for everything NB has done for me
professionally and I'd like to give back to the community.

Regards,

Tom
