Lee,

I'm glad you found a solution. I'd like to follow up on the discussion.

Delimiter problems can be especially frustrating when you're building a
string that then passes out to a scripting environment. When I need
internal single and double quotes and still need an outer delimiter, I
escape the inner occurrences of the outer delimiter.

In case that's not clear, so I would code your example expression as
     '/usr/bin/ryftprim -v -w 20 -p es -f regression/wikipedia-20150518.bin
-od br1.txt -s \'(RAW_TEXT CONTAINS "Babe Ruth")\' -n 4'
so that the inner single quotes make it to the destination. If the system,
NiFi in this case, uses single quotes around strings like your LogAttribute
output show, if single quotes within the string are not escaped they
usually get stripped out when it gets re-evaluated.

Regards,
Joe
