Team, With recent changes on the main branch to make the nifi-web-frontend module the default version of the user interface, we are in a good position for another milestone release of NiFi 2.0.0.
As always, we also have a number of bug fixes and dependency upgrades that are ready for release. It seems helpful to have a Milestone 4 release version, with a focus on the new user interface, as it will provide an opportunity for additional feedback before a full general availability version of NiFi 2.0.0. Thanks again to Matt Gilman, Rob Fellows, and Scott Aslan for their incredible effort to rebuild the user interface on modern frameworks and libraries! Although NiFi 2.0.0 remains the primary focus, there have been several important bug fixes applied to the support branch [1]. I renamed the 1.27.0 version to 1.26.1 since the number of changes and the types of changes are narrowly focused. Pierre Villard mentioned that he is ready to handle the Release Manager responsibilities for the 1.26.1 version, and I would be glad to handle the 2.0.0-M4 version. I am in the process of reviewing open pull requests, and I believe we are close to ready for release candidates this week.
