Team, I have drafted NIP-19 [1] proposing the addition of Gauges to Processor metrics. The proposal has a minimal public API surface, similar to current support for Counters, and the bulk of the work would come in the form of implementation within the framework.
Feedback is welcome, preferable on the issue itself, but I will also link this mailing list thread. Given the small public API surface, I expect most of the framework implementation details to be worked out in the regular pull request process.
