Team, I have drafted NIP-28 [1] proposing a follow-on improvement for the new Connectors capabilities that were introduced in NIP-11 [2]. One of the most powerful parts of NiFi is the ability to quickly adapt to situtations in real-time by modifying the flow. While Connectors have provide an abstraction to do this programmatically, NIP-28 provides the ability to temporarily switch the control of the flow over to the user, providing a more typical NiFi-like experience for any issues that might come up.
