Well, it turns out I get the exact same 19 failures in the develop branch.
My next step will be to try to build with Java 7.

FYI, here is the maven -version:

Apache Maven 3.2.3 (33f8c3e1027c3ddde99d3cdebad2656a31e8fdf4;
2014-08-11T16:58:10-04:00)
Maven home: c:\Program Files\apache-maven-3.2.3
Java version: 1.8.0_25, vendor: Oracle Corporation
Java home: c:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_25\jre
Default locale: en_US, platform encoding: Cp1252
OS name: "windows 7", version: "6.1", arch: "amd64", family: "dos"

Also, as I mentioned above, this happens both on the command line and as a
Junit test from Eclipse Luna. I'll let you know what happens when I try
with Java 7.
