One important thing to have in mind is to keep it fully compatible with other RTOS. There are lots of products shipped with MCUBoot using Zephyr RTOS / other OS. If it is possible to sign and boot a NuttX application on a MCUBoot bootloader that is built on top of Zephyr, there are a much greater possibility for companies to try NuttX as it's just a firmware update thing, instead of a complete change of bootloader.
