Ever since the release of Apache Axis2 version 1.3, which is what Apache ODE
version 1.X is built on, the committers at Axis2 have been busy cranking out
one release after another. First off, let's take a look at some of the
highlights from those release notes:
The major changes between Axis2 1.4 and Axis2 1.3 are:
- Support for JAXWS and JSR 181 Annotations
- Experimental CORBA Support
- Fixed tons of small and not-so-small bugs
The major changes between Axis2 1.5 and Axis2 1.4 are:
- Refactored, pluggable transports (separate jars, with deployer)
- Clustering improvements (works with EC2)
- Over 100 JIRA issues resolved
Needless to say, it would be nice to leverage some of these new and improved
features in Apache ODE. To that end, let us use this issue to capture and track
the work items required for upgrading the version of Apache Axis2 used by
Apache ODE 1.X to 1.5.
