Tammo,

Would it be possible to create more than one git repo? At least jacob should probably reside in a different repo. There are a few reasons for that: 1. Since git stores the whole repository in the local copy, repositories should be smaller and self contained. 2. As discussed in a separate thread, Jacob is more frameworky, the bpel engine is more like an app, they will probably have different lifecycles and possibly even audiences.

There are a few other less important reasons I could name. Thoughts?

Hi guys,

thank you for the votes, if I counted correctly we've got 5 binding PMC +1
votes, 4+2 non-binding +1 votes from committers+community and no other
votes. I think this is enough to get the migration started. I'll keep you
posted.

Cheers,
   Tammo

Hi guys,

thanks for your opinions (6 +1, 5 from committers, 2 from PMC members),
I'd
like to turn this conversation into a vote. I guess we'd need PMC lazy
consensus for this, so please vote again.

Here is my +1.

Thanks,
   Tammo

Hi devs,

Meanwhile, Apache offers read/write git repos for projects. Since
I'm
using
git anyways, synch'ing with git svn (which constantly causes
troubles
because the EU SVN mirror is sometimes slightly behind and thus
causing
sync issues), I'd love to migrate ODE's source tree to git.

What do you think?

Thanks,
   Tammo
