Hi Guys,
Sorry to resurrect this thread.
With https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-25484 I have cleaned the
useless and misleading files remaining at nigthlies.
I missed one at https://nightlies.apache.org/ofbiz/trunk/readme/html5/ : CHANGELOG.html
<https://nightlies.apache.org/ofbiz/trunk/readme/html5/CHANGELOG.html>
Now, I wonder if we could not use this file somehow by linking https://ofbiz.apache.org/download.html#tabs-2 (though getting to "Release Notes" tab
does not work this way)
Of course, that would be only for the stable version.
What do you think ? Does it worth it ?

Hi,
If nobody is against I'll remove this file Monday. Note that it will still be
available in Git history/log...

But if we don't do anything about it, why keep this misleading file until we
really start?

I think we'll need a process to fill it, the file alone will obviously not be
sufficient.

Hi Dev,
As we have already moved to git for the version control system, I propose
to add a changelog file to maintain the changelogs[1].
What is a changelog?
A changelog is a file which contains a curated, chronologically ordered
list of notable changes for each version of a project.
Why keep a changelog?
To make it easier for users and contributors to see precisely what
notable
changes have been made between each release (or version) of the project.
Who needs a changelog?
People do. Whether consumers or developers, the end users of software are
human beings who care about what's in the software. When the software
changes, people want to know why and how.
We can have our own process to generate changelog, It may be either
manual
entries, or some tool or using git log. We can discuss this
independently.

Thanks & Regards
