Can you give some examples of SFA application in market that follow the 
workflow you are suggesting?

We have mentioned before, the creation of lead is based on the personal 
information and it does not have the product related information. So there is 
insufficient information to qualify a lead.

Based on current scenario, we suggest the below mentioned workflow to qualify 
lead.
 -  First system selects the product.
 -  Asks product related queries and personal details.
 -  Then create the lead.

Advantages: 
 -  Creating lead based on product criteria.
 -  Easy tracking of lead for a product
 -  Better visibility of opportunity for a product
 -  Easy conversion of lead to opportunity as we have product specific data of 
the lead.

We didn't find our suggested example in any SFA module. But we think, it is the 
better approach for the lead qualification process. 

1. Capturing tracking code linked with campaign:
   At the time of lead creation,
 -  Select lead source as campaign
 -  Provide the campaign tracking code 

  It will relate lead with campaign.

2. Link opportunity with lead:
  After lead creation
 -   Evaluate captured data of lead as per organization standards for 
opportunity
 -   If it qualifies, convert to opportunity.

So now all the information collected at lead stage, will be used for 
opportunity.
