Hi Scott:
Thanks for that information. You are correct. If you navigate to
checkout by way of the shopping cart, then split shipments are an
option. Whew! Good news.
But, wait a minute - why does the checkout from the shopping cart point
to a different checkout flow than a checkout from "Quick Checkout" or
"One Page Checkout"? Shouldn't the checkout process be the same
regardless of where you entered it? Shouldn't all links point to and
provide the same basic checkout flow?
So what has happened here is that in 4.0, one of the checkout links on
the website store's main web page (the mulit-page checkout) took the
user to the same checkout screen as is still available through the
shopping cart.
Now, that option is gone. I still say this is a regression and should be
fixed. There shouldn't be 3 different checkout flows.

Ruth

Hi Ruth,
My guess is that you're looking at the micro cart in the top right corner of the screen.
Like I said, "Checkout" is the link you want and it is available in Cart
Summary screenlet and View Cart screen.

Hi Scott:
Are you sure?
I see:
1) a link to "Quick Checkout"
2) a link to "One Page Checkout"
On the "Quick Checkout" screen there are no links to split a shipment. The radio box provided under
the "Ship to Party" field label only allows for 1) adding new address 2) indicating that only one
of the available address is the destination address. In 4.0, there was a link here to "split" the
shipment among several addresses. It is not here anymore.
On the "One Page Checkout" screen there isn't even this much to talk about.
Please look more closely.

Ruth

I've updated and checked my 9.04 and I can see it as described below, the links available
that say "Checkout" all point to the mutli-page checkout which supports split
shipments.

Hi Scott:
Don't know about the trunk, since I can't run a recent trunk version - I don't
have Java 1.6 installed - but this is no longer available in 9.04. You need to
get past the checkout to the screen where the user provides shipping contact
information. There should be an option and then a screen for the user to
indicate shipping groups and two or more target shipping locations. This does
not exist in 9.04.

Hi Ruth,
I don't have a 9.04 installation setup locally to test this (and the demo is
still down I think) but split shipments and the multipage checkout are
certainly still available in the trunk OOTB. Add anything to the cart, and
then either click on Checkout in the Cart Summary on the right column or
otherwise click on View Cart and click on Checkout on the top of the page.

Hi Rishi:
This is not a new feature. Split shipment support was well established (and a
HUGE selling point when discussing OFBiz with prospects) in Release 4.0.
Technically, this is a regression.
I will submit a JIRA.

Ruth,
The multiform checkout was implemented as per covering all the possible
functionality which may be on any site, then quick checkout is encrypt its
some of the functionality and finally the one page is the most encrypted
demo to do checkout in which many functionality are not covered
intentionally. From your email it seems you are looking for the split
shipment in One page checkout which is not available at all there. If you
want that functionality there then yes you should create a Jira for that but
as it is a new feature then it won't be go into release 9.04 it will be new
implementation for trunk only.

The subject says it all...I'll submit a JIRA...if it really is missing.
FYI - this was never on the "Quick Checkout" form and only available on the
multi-form checkout. Now that the multiple form checkout is gone (replaced
by another single form checkout called "One Page Checkout") so is this
feature. Or am I missing something?
