btw, here is a solution, may be not the best one :
e.g. : in screen.xml
<property-map resource="CommonEntityLabels" map-name="uiLabelMap"
global="true"/>


in groovy :
uiLabelMap.get('StatusItem.description.'+key)

where key is my status, such as ROUTING
