Paul,
Our policy is to close when fixed. Previously (before this weekend and new Jira
version with new forced UI) it was possible to close without passing by the
fixed status. It seems, this is not possible anymore. So your concern will be
automatically addressed in the future. I will reopen, fix and close for this
one as you asked, but it's the only execption...
