Jacques Le Roux commented on OFBIZ-4659:
----------------------------------------

Yes, it's just that I was the initiator of this effort.

It might be confuse but let me try explain. After we improved the old calendar
(OFBIZ-1825), Sascha, asked me for a new task. I then suggested a layered
calendar, then we continued on the layered lookups effort, mostly done with
Ankit and Atul. After that Sascha asked me for another major task to do, I
suggested to integrate Jackrabbit. I was then planning to help him on this.
Finally Cato is now there (Cato mixes OFBiz and Magnolia which is itself based
on Jackrabbit), and I'm also a close partner of ilsicpio. So I will rather put
efforts in Cato than the Jackrabbit integration in OFBiz.

Long story short: I believe I will finally not commit any efforts in the
Jackrabbit integration, at least in a conceivable future. But I feel a bit
culprit, because it was initially my idea :(.

Apart Sascha, nobody invested in this. So my comment was more to get a feedback
about who is or would be interested in the Jackrabbit integration, thanks for
yours. I agree that closing is maybe not a good idea. It's just that I wonder
if the jackrabbit20120501 branch will be maintained. I gave it a try, it's
still doable but I wonder if it's worth the effort...

> This is the umbrella main task for the jackrabbit integration.
> If you need any assistance, have feature request(s), found a bug or have an
> idea for a better design you can post your comment here.
> For future development I suggest to follow these constraints:
> - Bugs and small changes can directly be fixed in the trunk, but should also
> be merged into the branch.
> - New features, integration in other parts of Ofbiz etc. should be first
> developed in the JCR branch. After they are tested we'll merge them back into
> the trunk.

> Have a good day
