Wai commented on OFBIZ-5585:
----------------------------

You are correct, the configuration has been modified to allow either one or the
other but not both.
eg. A snippet of the modified general.properties file might clarify this. If
you need additional info, let me know.

general.properties
...
# -- Multi-tenant Configuration:
multitenant=off
# --    value=(off | oneDomain | multiDomain)
# --        off or <empty> = Disable multitenant mode.
# -- oneDomain = Enable multitenant mode. Ofbiz is configure to use one
domain name. User need specify a tenant explicitly
# -- multiDomain = Enable multitenant mode. Ofbiz is configured to rely
on domain name of request to implicitly select a tenant.
multitenant.multiDomain.tenant0.domainName=localhost
# -- Used for multitenant=multiDomain. It specifies the domain name of ofbiz
that implicitly refers to tenant0 (ie. ofbiz, ofbizolap). Note, this property
can be overridden with an entry in ofbiztenant that refers to tenant0.

> multitenant supports tenant selection based on server/domain name

> A user can now select one or the other in multitenant mode
> 1) Select a tenant by explicitly specifying the tenantId in the login page
> (previously implemented)
> 2) Assign a domain name to each tenant. Hence, the user does not need to
> explicitly enter the tenantId. The domain name will automatically select the
> tenant.
