I agree with Adam moreover I don't see a real need to rename packages and what
it would add to the project apart more efforts and confusion. So like Adam
-1, even in the long term on my side, I'm not mad about having ALL "clean"!

If we start renaming things, then it'll become hard to port changes back and forth between release branches and trunk. We need to reduce the number
of outstanding branches first, before this can even be started.

followed by testing rather than modifying a piece and looking for all of
the references to that code and changing them and testing and then picking
the next piece.
