I am starting this thread to review and discuss the current configuration
of Nabble forums for OFBiz.
Currently Jacques is the administrator of these forums and Jacques created
them, years ago, using one forum with several sub-forums, one for each of
the official mailing lists.
While having the ability to search emails using Nabble is a nice feature,
one concern is figuring out what happens when a user that is not subscribed
to the our lists sends a message to the forums: if the message is published
in the forum but not in our official lists, and a discussion thread happens
there, then this is an issue because these lists should be the primary
mechanism of communication.
I think we should gather information to answer the following questions:
* how many messages (if any) are posted to Nabble but not reach our lists?
(# of messages per year)
* is there anything we can do to improve the configuartion of our Nabble
forums? I know other ASF projects are using Nabble, we may want to review
how they are using it
* should we encourage people to use PonyMail (lists.apache.org) rather than
Nabble or similar tools?

Jacopo
