Ok thanks Rob, So the latest news section gets it content feed from our Announce Mailing List.
Whilst it may be possible to make checks and conversions of links from text input; it would be a low priority task. If anyone is interested in following through with this then step 1 would be to create an INFRA Jira ticket and we go from there as time allows.
