Aleksei Udatšnõi commented on OOZIE-1591:
-----------------------------------------

Here is a typical use case.

There is an Oozie workflow that copies some data. This data is later to be
queried by Impala. However Impala may had cached the previous snapshot of your
data. To force Impala see the fresh data you need to execute:
{code}
REFRESH mytable
{code}

> Impala Action

>                 Key: OOZIE-1591
>                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OOZIE-1591
>             Project: Oozie
>          Issue Type: New Feature
>          Components: action
>            Reporter: Lars Francke
>            Priority: Minor
>
> The title says it all really: It would be really nice to have an Impala
> Action in Oozie.
> There was a brief discussion on the mailing list here:
> http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/oozie-user/201310.mbox/%3CCAD-Ua_gL_MKjsmjbjZR6bSytk0xHtRM%3DTu-8OrBAaMHKcpML5g%40mail.gmail.com%3E
> It could also be extended into a generic JDBC action but Impala doesn't yet
> support all JDBC features (like commit) so it'd need to be coded carefully.
