We would like to address the coarse job level locks as well to make things go
faster. But we need to give more thought on this as this change inadvertently
affects a lot of things. As Virag mentioned, race conditions can cause invalid
states in lot of places (Kill, pause, suspend, resume, coord change
(concurrency), etc). We can have a discussion during Hadoop Summit even if
materialization speedup solves the problem.
