Andras Piros commented on OOZIE-3093:
-------------------------------------

Hi [~dbist13]!

We internally at Cloudera test a couple of things, including Oozie HA, secure
Oozie, against a variety of Hadoop profiles (including Hadoop 3 now), running
most of the examples just to name a few. So speaking of 5.0.0 quality, this is
something we (Cloudera) can rely on.

Though not an {{5.0.0}} blocker, I consider this umbrella JIRA very important:
* for the sake of reproducible and automatized testing scenarios
* less efforts needed as part of every minor / maintenance release cycle

Sseveral important scenarios are not present in Apache Oozie, but would be
useful to implement:
* have {{MiniOozieTestCase}} instances that cover most action types like Spark
(standalone mode only), Hive, Hive 2. It's already possible to run asynchronous
Oozie actions, see {{TestWorkflow}} for details. Best would be to use
{{MiniMRYARNCluster}}, efforts are tracked in
[*OOZIE-2729*|https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OOZIE-2729]
* have test cases that spin up multiple Oozie server instances. At the moment
{{LocalOozie}} spins up exactly one {{MiniOozie}} - we need to have support more
* have a kerberized {{MiniDFSCluster}} / {{MiniMRCluster}} /
{{MiniMRYARNCluster}} setup, or, at the very least, some virtualization step
where examples are submitted in a kerberized environment

[~gezapeti] [~rkanter] what are your two cents?

> This is umbrella jira to track test scenarios on Oozie 5.0. In my discussion
> with [~gezapeti] we can have a joint effort to test different test cases.
> [~clayb] please provide your input as well.
> 1. Oozie HA
> 2. Oozie secure cluster
> 3. Run all examples
> 4. Execute against every Hadoop profile
> etc.
