Attaching Fay's patch. This was originally attached to OPENJPA-477. I have
renamed it to indicate that she is the author.
When Fay submitted the patch she granted a license to the ASF for inclusion. I
have checked the same option here - however it might be best if she were to
resubmit the patch to avoid future confusion.
