OpenJPA generates ABSTIME for a TIMESTAMP field for Postgres 8.4
----------------------------------------------------------------
Key: OPENJPA-1710
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OPENJPA-1710
Project: OpenJPA
Issue Type: Bug
Components: tooling
Affects Versions: 2.0.0
Environment: Mac OS X, JDK 6, OpenJPA 2.0
Reporter: Benjamin Renaud
The mapping tool (openjpa:sql maven target) generates a column of type ABSTIME
on Postgres 8.4. This is wrong because
1. ABSTIME is deprecated and
2. ABSTIME has a resolution of 1s.
It should be TIMESTAMP.
The workaround is to specify
<property name="openjpa.jdbc.DBDictionary"
value="TimestampTypeName=TIMESTAMP" />
in your persistence.xml
