https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OPENJPA-3049 (part of OPENJPA-3028) JPQL arithmetic on a BigDecimal or BigInteger and a Float or Double operand returned a BigDecimal. The spec (4.8.6) ranks Double and Float above BigDecimal, as the criteria API does since OPENJPA-3035. JPQL now follows the same order in the database and in memory. Comparisons, COALESCE, NULLIF and CASE are unchanged. A decimal literal like `1.5` stays an exact BigDecimal literal (4.6.1), so `n.floatField * 1.5` now returns Float and `n.intField * 1.5` still returns BigDecimal. The 4.2 migration notes describe the change. New `TestArithmeticPromotionOrder` checks JPQL and criteria in the database and in memory. Full openjpa-persistence-jdbc suite passes on Derby and H2. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
