"some guy" is me :-) I'd be very happy to provide support to anyone who wants to tackle this. The only skills you need is to be able to set up a Linux machine running OpenMeetings. The only tools you need are a browser and an SSH client.
I have some in development documentation which shows you step by step the process. It might need a little debugging and I'm here to answer questions about it.
