yes, we should make this clear on the download page and in the release notes. But the new version itself will not run on versions lower 10.7 and have a version check, see http://people.apache.org/~jsc/screenshots/MacOS_version_check_AOO4.1.png And if somebody tries to start it, the error box with the related version info pops up, see again the screen shot.
