This is a configuration thing. In general I do not have an issue in adding configuration changes to bugfix releases. However this one is 16 years old and has been requested in another time and context.
I think we should ask the community if they like it or not. And since we want to have some interaction with the community in 4.2.0, I think this is more suited in 4.2.0 release then in 4.1.6. Am 28.
