In case of a document with non-unique page widths the widest page is centered and the other pages are left aligned to it. Some people find this "jagged" left border irritating and prefer that all pages have a common left border. As mentioned in the issue 1761 the ability to center every single page will be a "side effect" of implementing issue 1598. So once we will have done that we will restart the discussion whether having a unique left border is more important or less important than having every page centered.
