Hi
I'm writing some documentation for an OpenOffice extension, and I have the
following problems with my xhp file :
- in a paragraph, I define a variable with the attribute "visibility" set
to "hidden", but the textual contents of the variable element is still
displayed in the paragraph
- I define a variable with only textual content. If I include a reference to
this variable (using the "embedvar" element) in a "paragraph" element, the
contents of the variable is displayed normally in the paragraph. However, if
I put the same reference to this variable in an "ahelp" element, the contents
of the variable is not displayed in the extended tool tip (although the tool
tip is displayed normally). This is strange, since the reference documents
state explicitly that an "ahelp" element can contain an "embedvar" element.
Does anybody know what's happening and how to fix these problems ?
Thanks

Hi true801,
don't trust the help development documentation, most of it is outdated.
Sorry we had no time to update the docs.
The visibility attribute works only within <ahelp hid="."
visibility="hidden">...help text...</ahelp> to hide extended help text
from being visible on the normal help pages.
In <ahelp>...</ahelp> text, only plain text is allowed. No formatting,
even no line breaks. No variables, no links. Please submit a request for
enhancement if you need more formatting features.
Regards
Uwe
