The later updates on JOSM do have severe problems on windows machines. Memory problems while javaw.exe takes less then 100 M on a 2 gig machine Spontaneous memory problems on downloading more then 1 M of osm data Problem clicking away the memory problem message (keeps popping up) I made a ticket for this, but no response yet. (and no improvement either)
