I was driving across Swansea, South Wales, UK (my home town) with my
in-car Garmin GPS unit telling me the way using home-made maps courtesy
of OSM (for the data) and mkgmap (for making the Garmin maps).

Suddenly I ran out of road. Several km of urban dual carriageway was
missing. This was way 4686568 (Northbound) and way 23612325 (Southbound).

It's all there on OSM, and has been for ages. What's happening is that
XAPI seems just not to include those ways in the extract of the planet
that it gives me. I'm using bounding-box "-4.350,51.363,-3.208,51.705"
which should be plenty enough to contain those ways. Indeed - there's
plenty of navigable map visible all around the missing section.

I've found more missing ways since, but can't find any pattern to it.
For instance, way 4686515 is just a short bit of 'residential'
surrounded by more of the same. The surroundings are there, that one
road isn't.

The only obvious things in common are that all missing ways I've seen
are one-way streets. Also, all these ways are toward the northern end of
the bounding-box (but well within it). This is off my normal
drive-to-work and I've only just noticed. But I've kept my raw XAPI
files since the start of May and those roads have been missing in all of
them. So it's not a new bug in XAPI.

Anyone got any ideas what's happening here please?
Steve
