Possible, but not answering within 30s is equal to a failure, regardless if the
timeout is done in the client. This has to be reported to the users what ever
has caused it.
Well sure OpenLayers could handle these things better, but that's
something you should probably address on openlayers-dev ;-)
True and I will. Yet it's in the best interests of OSM that this's done asap.
