Not exactly. The extracts are created with Osmosis, writing directly to pbf. It is only the .osm.bz2 files that are produced with pbf2osm from the "originals".
It seems that pbf2osm fails to insert a bound/bounds element like the old toolchain did. Is this intentional?
Osmosis stores the bounds in the pbf file, but pbf2osm does not extract them. Certainly not intentional from my side ;)
