Yes, it was just an idea. Without buy in for this or something similar,
it won't make progress. It would be easy to implement at the server
side. I had intended to do a prototype, but I ended up with a large
contract to do something else after SOTM 2010 so I wasn't in a position
to. But it won't work as an adjunct - it has to be part of the system
and in particular share the same credentials.
My thought re the wiki page was that that or equivalent would be
generated automatically from the schema, a bit like tag watch is done,
only a more friendly presentation and, because definitions would be
stored (and in multiple languages), more descriptively.

Hi,
this is indeed a great idea. But I also didn't found more information
about "Tag Central". Are there any further steps already done - or is
this all about it?
It could be a great start-up point for tag searching. I could imagine
that the wiki page[1] are hard to maintain - espacially their translations.

Hi David,
(CC'ing the list this time - sorry for duplication, it was a mistake, I
switched e-mail clients recently :-)

Let me put it this way - you hit the nail right in the head with that.
This is pretty much exactly what I had in mind and you have this already
thought out, aptly named (Tag Central - cool beans!). I love the
"implies" stuff as well, linguistic variations etc.
I also agree on the documentation part of it - this is actually done for
most popular tags on the wiki, so it is "only" a matter of structuring
that, i.e. importing (easy to say, harder to do of course) to Tag
Central.
So... what's happened with that idea since your presentation/talk? I've
not been able to find anything about Tag Central besides the above
content itself.
