Hi, I've committed a little utility to svn (applications/utils/whichdiff) that finds the state.txt file to use for minutely replication based on your local highest node ID.
Effectively, it does a binary search over the existing diffs on the server to find the one in which your node ID has been created and then goes back by two minutes to be on the safe side. If you find anything wrong or worthy of improvement, feel free to fix it.
